Veteran's Day

May you take a moment today to show some silent respect for those who have served/or are serving their country.

To my Dad, who was a gunner, who landed on the beaches of Normandie, who was... what is now called a silent soldier -

He never spoke of the war. It wasn't until this summer when I found his discharge papers that I found out what battles he was in, what his job was, etc. We were lucky to get him back. [img]graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

The military history in my family runs deep...

My one grandfather was in World War II, the other fought in Korea.

My father was a Marine in Vietnam.

I have an uncle that spent time in the Pentagon, another that was in the Navy during Grenada.

One of my cousins is in the Army now, another got out of the Navy last year.

My sister is still in the Army, has been for 8 years now.

My brother is a Marine, just got back from Iraq less than 2 months ago.

I spent nearly 5 years in the Army myself, building communication networks.

It is amazing how people love the freedom that America gives them, but so often overlook those that gave their lives, or part of it, to allow them to have the opportunity.

As a veteran, I say to all my family members that served, or are serving, and all vets around the world, thank you. You will not be forgotten, at least not in my heart.

My grandpa in World War II..my other grandpa who isnt with us anymore..My step father in Vietnam my Uncle who suffers from the after effects of Vietnam..My most favorite brother home from the War in Iraq, newly married and expecting a little boy in Feb...Each and every person who served then and now.. Tho I wasn't able to respond to this thread on that day......
My heart was with each and every one of them..past, present, and yes, even future.
If it weren't for these brave folks, we would not have, what we have today.
Perhaps we wouldn't even be here today.

THANK YOU, TO EACH AND EVERY ONE, WHO HAS PUT THEIR LIFE ON THE LINE FOR THEIR COUNTRY AND THE PEOPLE LIVING IN IT.
